What IS Cyber Security?

Cybersecurity, also known as information technology security or computer security, is the practice of protecting computer systems, networks, and sensitive information from unauthorized access, use, disclosure, disruption, modification, or destruction. It involves a combination of technologies, policies, and procedures to protect against cyber threats such as hacking, malware, phishing, and other forms of cybercrime.

The goal of cybersecurity is to protect the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of sensitive information, as well as to ensure the continuity of critical business operations. This includes protecting against both internal and external threats, such as malicious actors, errors and accidents, and natural disasters.

Cybersecurity includes a wide range of practices and technologies, including firewalls, intrusion detection and prevention systems, encryption, threat intelligence, penetration testing, and incident response planning. It also involves implementing security policies and procedures, such as access control, incident management, and security awareness training for employees.

Cybersecurity is a critical concern for organizations of all sizes, as well as for individuals. As more and more of our lives and business operations are conducted online, the importance of cybersecurity has grown, and it continues to be an essential aspect of modern society.
